Miley Cyrus' New Album Debuts at Number 3 on the Chart

Miley Cyrus' brand new album Endless Summer Vacation debuted at number 3 on the Billboard 200 album chart, with first-week sales exceeding $100,000.

The 13-track pop/dance-pop album sold over 119,000 album-equivalent units in its first week,  of which 55,000 were album sales alone. That's nearly double the first-week sales of Cyrus' last album, Plastic Hearts (2020). It sold more than 60,000 album-equivalent copies.

Cyrus fans took to social media to congratulate the singer/songwriter.

The album received positive reviews upon release, with many critics calling it his best work to date. Rolling Stone critic Brittany Spanos called it "the sharpest, most independent album of our time" and "a powerful artistic statement, focused and clear, as Cyrus seems to have found herself in her thirties." Clash music critic Emily Swingle wrote, "This is a release that aims for a timelessness of its own, where the real, unfiltered Miley Cyrus steps into the sunlight."

The album's success is no surprise given its promotional material. It was preceded by the single "Flowers", which was released earlier this January and was a huge critical and commercial success. The single topped the Billboard Hot 100  for weeks, becoming the entertainer's second No.1 hit since 2013's "Wrecking Ball."

The track broke Spotify's record when it became the fastest song in the platform's history to reach over 100 million streams. To further promote the album, the presenter partnered with Disney and published a musical documentary last March 10 in which he discussed and presented some of the songs from the album. Many celebrated the special, calling it her big return to Disney after portraying Hannah Montana from the mid-2000s to the early 2010s. Disney even teased a special on Twitter, with their caption, "Welcome Home."

Three days before the album's release, the singer teased her second single from the album, "River." In a tweet, Cyrus shared several clips from the song's music video. The caption read: "RIVER. MUSIC VIDEO. FRIDAY."

With all the hype surrounding the album, we're grateful to finally be able to listen to it. Cyrus is at the top of her game and the album proves it. Fans can watch Endless Summer Vacation (Backyard Sessions) on Disney. And below, they can enjoy his latest music video, "River".
